Fulham - More on Zamora!

Yesterday evening the news broke that Fulham had been granted permission to talk to the West Ham United striker Bobby Zamora.

Today (Thursday) we fully expect the news to break that Zamora has agreed personal terms and will be wearing the white of Fulham next season as we seek to improve on the fraught times of last season.

There is no doubt that following the retirement of Brian McBride and the sad injury to Diomansy (Joe) Kamara we are a little light up front.

Sadly though, the reports that are being carried in the tabloids that suggest we`re about to pay £6.5 million for Zamora horrify me.

Although I understand his appearances were restricted last season due to injury, his goals per games ratio just doesn`t support such a fee.

Therefore, whilst it is being widely quoted by the West Ham commercial director, Scott Duxberry, that

"We recognise Bobby and John had limited first team opportunities last season."

"They want to play regular football and we have given permission for them to speak to Fulham with a view to concluding a move."

I can`t help feeling that West Ham United are rubbing their hands in glee at receiving such a figure for Zamora.

Please Fulham, please tell me the figure quoted has been grossly exaggerated?

Please God no, not £6.5 Million for someone who in their prime cost £1.5 million. oh and get Kitson instead
Backslash2010
Apparently it is closer to £4million

BTW, Brian McBride didn't retire. He went to play in the MLS. Unless that's what we're calling retirement these days. In which case some one should probably imform Beckham.
Mr. Ploppy
Even £4 million is too much in my opinion!

I think putney means he retired from proper football!
Al Billy
exactly mate, exactly - he did enough for us to retire to an easy league!
Putney
BACK TO THE POINT!!!!! DON'T GET HIM ROY, DON'T YOU DARE
Backslash2010
Better than you could hope for I think.

Zamora isn't worth more than 3 million, in which case, 3 million for Zamora and 3 possibly 4 million for Kitson and our striking problems are solved. 6 million for Zamora is S*****z style spending... crazy
