Fulham - Niemi Operated On!

Fulham - Niemi Operated On!

In the last few weeks the future of our Finnish international goalkeeper, Antti Niemi, has come under discussion on this site.

At one stage there were heavy rumours that he was destined for Anfield as back-up to Pepe Reina.

There was also the suggestion that newly promoted Hull City would be interested in obtaining his services.

Unfortunately, any suggestion of a move, in the immediate future, may be put on the back-burner as we understand that Antti has had to have an operation to correct a nagging wrist injury.

His rehabilitation period is deemed to be in the region of three weeks, therefore, we anticipate any possible transfer might not materialise until the back end of this month or early August.

not necassarily so, his wrist op is hardly career ending - his reputation may allow a move to proceed!

Typical that Niemi gets injured when we need him to be fit the most! During transfer window!
