Bridge: Fulham are a 'real bonus'

Wayne Bridge has underlined his time playing with the Whites as being a “real bonus”.

The Chelsea left-back is pushing for fitness ahead of the World Cup as he wants to guarantee himself a place in Sven Goran Eriksson's squad when the World Cup finals kick off in June.

Bridge, 25, has been on loan to Fulham since midway through the January transfer window and has had a massive impact on the side with his maturity and professionalism.

Fulham manager Chris Coleman, hailed him on Tuesday as being “superb” “first class” and “excellent” since he has been playing at Craven Cottage.

Bridge has enjoyed his stay at Craven Cottage and his returning to fitness has given him a massive boost ahead of the finals.

Bridge said: “Being back playing regularly in the premier league is so important.

“Hopefully I can now get better and better.

“The next few months are incredibly important for me and playing regular first team football for Fulham is a real bonus.”
