Fulham lose out in race for Swedish star!

A report in the Daily Mirror gives the indication that Fulham have missed out on a potential transfer target.

If it is correct, it looks as if Bolton Wanderers have beaten us to the signature of the Swedish striker, Johan Elmander.

Elmander was part of Sweden`s unsuccessful Euro 2008 squad and the Mirror is suggesting that Bolton boss, Gary Megson, is prepared to pay as much as 11 million to capture the forward.

Currently playing for Toulouse, it looks as if a late intervention from Fulham, declaring an interest, wasn`t enough to scupper Bolton`s deal.

All we`ll say is that 11 million seems a little steep for a humble club like ours to be coughing up for one player doesn`t it?

We Could get crouch for that! Or a combination of Aaron Lennon, Dawson and Tanio from spurs
11 million quid?? The days of Marlet style signings are gone. I'd be very surprised if RH has been given much more than 10 million or so to go and buy players for next season after the idiot blew all that money last summer. Where on earth do Bolton get 11 million quid from anyway? How much did they get for Anelka again?
lol - 15,000 more like, madness 15 million!

I'm not sure even Bolton have 15 million to spend on one player!
i wud prefer 11 mil on one player than 30 mill on hundreds of championship players!!
good point there alexlarge. I can't get it out of my head what RH would have been able to do for us with the cash we gave the 'idiot'!
Wonder how much he actually has to spend this summer?!?!?
I doubt that much, proberly 15-16 Million
alexlarge - massive shout there mate - couldn't argue with that one!

Elmander's a good player - never quite lived up to early promise - but he's certainly not 11 million worth!
How much? Me false teeth just dropped out when my jaw dropped!
