'If It's Football, It's Vital'

News is scarce! So How About This?

I thought, seeing as the Euro 2008 championships are in full flow, I`d canvass opinion on a subject that I hope you all have an opinion about, that of televised football.

As you`ve probably realised the Euro 2008 Championships are being televised jointly by the BBC and ITV. Sky Sports may give the occasional update but it is the terrestrial channels that are providing the nightly coverage.

So to cut to the quick, what I want to know is do you prefer the coverage that BBC and ITV supply or are they not a patch on Sky Sports?

Do the dulcet tones of John Motson, Clive Tyldsley and company satisfy your appetite or do you yearn for Martin Tyler, Andy Gray and company?

We here at Vital Fulham would appreciate your views.

They are not a patch on Sky. Even though I would much sooner listen to a game without the ex pro's chirping in every two minutes. Whilst its been on BBC i have turned the sound down and listened to Alan Green and co on the radio.

I'd rather it stay terrestrial, I'd listen to the matches live on BBC Five Live "after Fighting Talk" then sit down at night and watch the highlits on Match of the day

Must say I am loving all the football on Tv! At least a game everyday is fantastic! I like the Sky coverage more for some reason. They have more experience!

The Sky coverage is better, hands down, BUT we can't all get our hands on Sky Sports (me included in this) and as a result I have to go to the pub (where significant funds are then inevitably expended!) to watch a game. For the big tournaments and, frankly, the qualifying campaign the terrestrial, free to air, channels should still have exclusive coverage for the number of people like me!

I can't stand it when the commentators get the Players names wrong when Holland are playing! It's not that difficult to look at the number on the shirt and realise that Boulharouz is not Van Der Vaart!

but orange - they get paid so much to do some research - not!
