Our new McBride found?

According to reports this morning Roy's search for a replacement for Brian McBride has lead him to James Beattie.

The powerful striker has rediscovered his best form following since his move from Everton to Sheffield United, and apparently Roy is hoping to lure him back to the Premier League with an offer of 6million.

Is Beattie the man to fill McBride's boots? I remember we were linked to him couple of season's ago.

Don't do another kamara. Good in the championship but then crap in the prem. and we don't need another striker Kamara prooved at the end he is a great player him and nevland are good enough
He'd better be two McBride's for 6 million!
Mr. Ploppy
6 mill for Beattie is barmy. We def need another striker, although I'd hope Nevland and Johnson will really come into their own this season.
I thought Nevland looked quite good but according to Setanta Sports commentators he it better coming off the bench?!?!?! Not sure how much of that is true. I still think Johnson can come good for us, a bit of coaching from Roy and he'll be great. I would also like to see collins John get more of a chance.
Backslash, I sense a slight contradiction 'Don't do another kamara. Good in the championship but then crap in the prem. and we don't need another striker Kamara prooved at the end he is a great player him', so good in the c'ship but crap in the prem, but actually a great player, mmm, i'm confused...
Flippin' James Beattie??? He's crap! Is that the best we can do at Fulham? I hope this is just tabloid rumour, cause Beattie is not what we need. I'd rather have Eddie Johnson playing up front on his own, clowning about than Beattie! 6 million quid? Give me strength...
we should got for Vennegor of Hessilink if we want a target man, He will be available for around 5million i recon.
What i meant was for most of the season he was pants, but at the end he showed us that he can play football
Fulham Badger
I'd disagree, he can be a quality finisher, perhaps we could rejuvenate his PL career?
Al Billy
Fulham Badger... whatever gave you that idea :) I've never been a fan of Beattie I'm praying thats just a tabloid rumour!
Should look elsewhere. He might be a good player in the Championship but I don't reckon he'll do great for us in the Premiership. Anyway for 6 million we're better off looking elsewhere. Aim higher than Championship players ffs!! If we're always gonna Championship players then we're never gonna be more than a bottom half of the table Premiership team
6million can get Engelaar! (Or Cisse i guess) But Engelaar!!
