'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It`s Hull City First!

As far as fixtures go, to start a campaign, I`m not sure whether it`s a good one, a bad one or an indifferent one!

Hull City scraped into the Premier League via the Play-Off Final, they`re hotly tipped to be relegated and they may have trouble finding their feet in the top flight of English football. Therefore, as something of a veteran with regards to the Premier League, our experience should see them off.

Sadly, football isn`t that easy. Hull have sold a record number of season tickets and the locals, watching top flight football for the first time in their history, will be roaring their team on. It`s exactly the kind of place Fulham could come unstuck at. That`s if Lawrie Sanchez were still in charge.

Thankfully, Roy Hodgson is a much smarter cookie, he`ll have done his homework and after finishing last season with three away wins on the trot, after such a barren run whereby the world had changed since we`d last won away, he`ll be keen to stretch that run to four.

In my opening line, I suggested it might be an indifferent fixture to start the season with. I`d suggest, get your money on a draw. Looking on the bleak side though, if we lost to one of the favourites for relegation, it could be a long season ahead of us!

I really don't like the look of May. Let's hope we're safe by then...

I fancy Roy Hodgson to mess up Hull's opening-day party. Whether that means we win, or equalise in the last minute of added time, I don't know...
