Harper a Hodgson target?

Fulham and Bolton are hoping the promise of top-flight football will be enough of an appeal to persuade James Harper to leave Reading.

No official bids have been made yet for the 27-year-old Chelmsford-born ace.

It is thought a bid of around £3million will be enough to force Reading`s hand.

we need t sign some strikers an defenders cas we got 11 midfielders now ffs

Completely agree! All we've been linked to for the last few weeks have been midfielders and keepers, which we don't need! A towering centre back, a right back and a target man is what we need! Hughes is a good defender but a bit on the short side! play him at right back maybe?

Didn't hues start out as a right back? i'm pretty sure i've seen him play there for N.Ireland but not sure how good he'd be going forward.

I remember seeing him play there for Newcastle on a Sky Sports "Classic Games" thing. He looked good and scored a diving header.

Coppell rated Harper highly - he played almost every game if I recall right!
Al Billy
I know he was a regular the season before last but didn't he struggle a bit this season?
Fulham Badger
sign him - a real solid pro who can slot in anywhere!
Putney
It's always good to add some depth and strength to the squad, but after getting in some midfielders and keepers already, Roy should focus on the defence and then get in a McBride replacement. I think Harper was one of the best players at Reading, it wouldn't be a bad thing if he came to Fulham
