Fulham - Keller to Retire!

With the news being officially released that Zoltan Gera has passed a medical and joined Fulham, the same BBC Sport article goes on to suggest that Kasey Keller has not been offered an extension to his one year deal, a deal which has all but expired.

It then goes on to mention that Kasey will probably retire, a suggestion that we here at Vital Fulham consider strange.

Kasey did a more than capable job for us last year and is quite capable of playing on with another club. If he were to retire we can only think it`s down to the fact that moving to another club, on a short term contract, would be a major domestic upheaval and that he`d rather return to his roots with his family.

We`ll try and keep you posted if we hear any further news on the subject.

he was going to retire before we came in for him. He's been saying he had more options last year than he has ever had

could well be the case, could well be the case!
Al Billy
whatever he does, I wish him well!
Fulham Badger
and so do I - he played his part in keeping us up last season!
Putney
he certainly did! Still a very good keeper! Wish him well in whatever he does.

He did a great job in goal...valuable contribution from him. Can't see where this will go. He's getting on a bit, and the arrival of Schwarzer and Stockdale sure signals the end for Keller at Fulham. I guess it depends who offers him a contract, if there's nothing good, he may well call it a day.

He seems to be getting a bit of work in the media mainly pundit work. Maybe he's retiring to do that.
