'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - 18% Not renewing?

With Fulham having provided one of the most gripping escapes from relegation in recent years, it proved to be a wonderful climax to the end of the season.

In an ideal world it should have provided the catalyst for a frantic season ticket renewal frenzy. After all, there is every reason to be very optimistic with regards to next season.

Roy Hodgson turned our fortunes around and with four victories in the last five fixtures, produced a team that, in any other part of the season, would be seen as Premier League front runners.

So, why the apathy when it comes to renewing those season tickets?

A recent survey, published in the papers this morning, indicates that as many as 18% of our season ticket holders, from last season, are not renewing for this season.

Why?

Our prices could be considered very reasonable when compared to those charged by the other London clubs in the Premier League!

Perhaps, memories of two relegation struggles are haunting us, or could it be, quite simply, that the popularity of football amongst the corporate types is waning?

We'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this subject.

I'd say it's down to the credit crunch! Well it gets blamed for everything else!

I'm renewing my season ticket! Just waiting for the papers to arrive through the door! Apparently out ST prices have gone up, I don't realise this? Mine is going to be £200 more this season, but thats because I'm not longer a junior (still don't know how i got a junior ticket last season!). I also want to know how they worked this out. Surely they have to wait till the start of the season to see how many season tickets are being renewed.

the early bird prices are the same. they have been bloody slow on getting stuff through the mail as well, mine only came on saturday and I'm intending to send it off tomorrow in the post. Reasonable price as far as I'm concerned I'm paying 559 for block B in Stevenage Road. The price for a new ticket goes up 50 quid if you don't get in before 13th june I think.

i suspect the stats were manipulated to suit a purpose!
Putney
I think your right Putney! Wasn't there a similar stories last season? About tickets being high prices.
oranje_emu
I've sent off my renewal pack anyway! I can't believe that after the positive end to last season the season ticket holders don't renew especially since the early bird prices are the same as last year!

The figure is misleading because, as oranje says, we won't know for sure till the start of the season. BUT people are definitely spending less generally owing to the slowdown (isn't "credit crunch" a stupid term?!") Anyway, I think FFC prices are just about reasonable!
