Hodgson on McBride Leaving!

After deciding that he had an overwhelming desire to leave Craven Cottage and return to his ancestral home, it`s no surprise that our current manager, Roy Hodgson has had some kind words to say about the American striker.

There`s no denying that Brian McBride will be a hard act to follow as during the four and a half years he`s been with us he`s led by example.

In fact, one job Roy will have to give some priority to is the announcement of a new club captain. Thankfully, he has all summer to mull over who the suitable candidates may be.

In the mean time, this is the tribute Hodgson gave to the departing McBride,

"Brian McBride has been a fine ambassador for Fulham Football Club."

"As my captain last season Brian was truly respected in the dressing room and led by example on the pitch."

"His attitude is second to none - Brian is a true pro in every sense of the word."

Something tells me we`re going to miss someone who during his tenure at Fulham was voted player of the year twice!

He will go down as a legend at Fulham for years, and i don't think that's the last we've seen of him at Fulham. Mark my words

He has become one of my all time favourite players! His manner on and off the field is insperational. I wish him all the best in America and would love to see him back at Fulham.

Quality player, what a loss to the premier league, and English football in general, would have loved to see him down the road at QPR.
