'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Farewell Brian McBride!

After weighing up all the options, our American striker, Brian McBride, has come to a decision.

After implying he may well return to America, McBride has today informed the club that this is the case and that he has worn the white shirt of Fulham for the last time.

An official statement released, reads thus,

"After much consideration with my family, we have decided to leave Fulham after four and a half fantastic years. I have always stated my intention to return to America at some stage and this seems like the right moment in my career to move on.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Club, the Chairman, the staff and wonderful fans for all their support, on and off the pitch, during my time at Fulham. I take great pride in the fact that my last appearance for Fulham saw the Club maintain its Premier League status. I leave with some wonderful memories from my time at Fulham and the Club will always be in my heart.

"I would like to wish the Club, Roy Hodgson and my team mates every success for the future."

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to wish Brian (and his family) all the best and we`d also like to thank him for his hard work, his effort and those goals that gave us all so much joy.

With McBride gone and Niemi, apparently, going. It appears that FFC will start the 08/09 season with only two first teamers from two seasons ago - Bullard and Davies. Has anything other Premiership team seen such player turnover?

so we are now down to a possible 2 americans?!?!? Doesn't feel right! American side has some players i wouldn't mind in a Fulham shirt. Bradley and Onyewu for example.

What a player and a leader McBride has been at Fulham. A true legend!

A true professional and a gentleman. McBride should be used as an example to young players as to how the game should be played, maybe he could get a role as an international ambassador when he finally retires. A legend who will never be replaced. I wish him and his family all the very best.
Peyton
Maby the first American manager in the Premier league?
Backslash2010
He is and always will be the gentleman of football. I hope he does one day return to england and i'm sure we'll be first to offer him a job
