Stalteri Shock!

After releasing eight players yesterday, it seems that a ninth of last seasons squad has also got no future at Craven Cottage.

Paul Stalteri, who joined us on loan from Tottenham in January, will not get his wish to sign a permanent contract at Craven Cottage.

Instead he will be returning to White Hart Lane where he will no doubt be sold on to another club.

Stalteri, since joining Fulham proved to be a valuable acquisition, indeed, his performances were such that you voted him our second best defender, behind Brede Hangeland in our recent poll.

However, his departure does add further fuel to the rumour that Roy Hodgson has lined up Steve Finnan as his replacement.

We here at Vital Fulham would like to wish Paul every success in the future and thank him for the valuable work he did in our fight for survival.

Thanks Paul!

For all we know the clubs could still be in negotiations. Just that Stalteri's loan has expired and he has to return to Spurs. I wouldn't be surprised if we did see him join on a permanent deal.

Nor would I, anywhere is better than White Hart Lane :-)

I would be very surprised if we didn't sign him! specially as spurs will off load him for a cut price surely?

I would go up to £1.5million

Seems odd to let him go, considering how limited we are in that position. Would be great to keep him. Fingers crossed!

Still think Volz is a better right back, but he was a solid performer and anything is better than Baird, or someone like Rosenior, we should keep him if we can get him on the cheap. However if Finnan appears back in a Fulham shirt I will be very very happy
