'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Old Boy to Return?

According to the Press this morning Roy is looking to be bringing back former favourite Steve Finnan.

Finnan lost his regular place at Anfield this season, playing just five games since March, with Arbeloa and Jamie Carragher being preferred.

The 32-year-old Irish international now looks to have dropped further down the pecking order following the capture of Swiss international Degen.

It's understood that Rafa would consider selling Finnan for around 2million.

I believe Finnan, who is in the twilight of his career, still has plenty to bring to the party and can finally provide some real quality and depth to the Right Back position with the probable signing of Stalteri also fighting for the position.

Am I being a bit too sentimental or will this be a good signing?

I love this guy and have suffered much stick defending him im think he still has the quality to be a top prem player for another couple of seasons

Oh the Irnony, he is part of the system that crippled our team. Sell all the good players and then don't buy any more.

nice to see we've finally reversed the teend then!

No! If he's not good enough for Liverpool now then don't buy him back! We've got to aim high!

Christ! We're aiming a bit high a bit quick aren't we?

I'd say so - delusions of grandeur or what!

Finnan was a great player for the club, has done well at Liverpool and is a consistent player with proven Premiership class. If he is available cheaply and he wants to come back get him in! You'd be mad not to
