'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It`ll Be Euro 2008 For Me!

It`s a little over a week since our Premier League status was secured; it seems like a life time ago!

If eight days seems like a lifetime, just how long will the wait for next season to commence seem like?

It promises to be a long summer punctuated only by Euro 2008, in which England will not be participating, and the monotony of sports that bore me rigid - tennis, golf, cricket and athletics.

I`ve never seen the point of athletics, running around a track desperately trying to beat like-minded people but if not trying to run a personal best!

As for cricket, no, the sound of leather on willow does nothing for me except send me to sleep, the time-frame of the game itself lends itself to hours of boredom.

As for golf, do me a favour! Grown men chasing a little white ball around the sun-baked courses, ending up in bunkers, let`s just say I`ll stick with the birdies.

And finally tennis, the sport of the upper classes, the cries of 'silence please` punctuated only by the chortling of a thousand chinless wonders as a lost-cause Brit topples out to an unknown seed.

So what are we to do this summer?

Do we while away the time or do we throw ourselves whole-heartedly into Euro 2008?

It could prove to be an interesting tournament, at least being in Austria and Switzerland the kick-offs will be at manageable times.

We may even spot Uncle Roy doing his bit as a UEFA ambassador!

All that remains to be done is to pick a side to follow.

So come on folks, nominate a team for Vital Fulham to follow throughout the tournament, it could turn out to be quite a laugh!

Portugal. Certainly not France or Spain coz thats just equivalent to Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

Germany anyone? Always powerful and efficient!
merlin
Follow me and support the might Oranje!!! (Holland). They play attractive attacking football with world class players such as Van the Nistelrooy, Van der sar, Huntelaar, Robben, Van Persie, Seedorf, the list goes on!! So put on your most vibrant orange shirt you have and go crazy for the dutch!
oranje_emu
they got Robben - no thanks!
merlin
Indeed, Germany it will be for me as well. Solid midfield, 4 exciting strikers and a very offensive back 4.
Jive Spector
No! Stay away from Germany!
oranje_emu
No, not Germany. I would probably go for either Holland or France!
Fan of Blues
right then - so far Vital Fulham are opting to follow the fortunes of the Dutch!
Putney
yay!! I win! :-P

I'm rooting for Portugal and Spain! Although I can't stand Ronaldo, I love Big Phil and the style of play. But oi - tennis, an upper class sport? Maybe in England but in the rest of the world it ain't!
KingLegwinski
Sorry to be unpopular but I will be rooting for France. For no other reason than I like the country and their way of life. Holland has to come second in my list because I like the way they play.
Fulfan_cymru
france=arsenal, spain=liverpool, portugal=man u. none of them. I'm going to be controversial, and go for croatia... small country, play attractive football...whats not to like? (other than them beating england twice)
pompeycarpet
I'll be supporting Portugal, Germany and Holland ;)))) BTW, Seedorf has pulled out of the squad.

I know just read that!! Not too happy about that but we have cover!
oranje_emu
I'll go for Holland as they play attractive football - so that's three of us - is the motion carried?
Fulham Badger
Croatia could surprise a few people - it'll be interesting!
Al Billy
no mention of Formula 1 then?
