Stockdale on Fulham Move!

He may have seen his hopes crash around his ears of playing in a Wembley Play-Off Final after his side lost a penalty shoot-out against Darlington but David Stockdale has a lot to be happy about.

The twenty-two year old keeper, who is set to join Fulham for a fee in the region of £500,000 spoke to the media, ahead of the game yesterday, to give the current situation with regards to his proposed move remarking,

"The deals 95% agreed and it`s good for Darlington as they`re getting a decent deal out of it and good for me to develop my career."

"I`ve been to have a look round at Fulham and the goalkeepers there are just unbelievable so it will be a challenge to prove that I`m as good, but I`ll fight for a place."

"You`ve got to set your sights high. Look at Joe Hart at Manchester City. He went there from Shrewsbury a few years ago and has established himself, so you never know."

After witnessing Stockdale in action yesterday, I get the impression the youngster will have to bide his time before becoming our first choice.

picture isn't clear at the moment as to who is staying and who is going!
Putney
He is by far and away the best keeper currently playing outside the Premiership. Only question is can he make the step up from league 2 to Premiership?

I'm pretty certain the game on saturday wasn't a fair reflection on him! He was druged up.

What has happened to Niemi? He came back from injury but still didn't make the bench. He and Roy were good mates after the Finland days - have they fallen out now?
KingLegwinski
Don't know if he really ever gained match fitness as i don't remember him playing for the reserves King! I think this guy should learn from the like of Keller who has all the experience in the world, if he can fullfill his potential could be a good signing
howrad
