Earlier this week we offered our commiserations to Steven Davis after his Rangers side had failed to lift the UEFA Cup. Well it would seem that the midfield player, who is on loan at Ibrox, is still none the wiser as to his future.
Various media sources have suggested various clubs as his next destination but it would seem that Davis hasn`t even had time to think about such matters.
With most clubs having finished their fixtures, Rangers still have four games to play in the next seven days to tie up a domestic programme that could see them win a domestic treble, no mean achievement.
Regarding his future, this is what Davis had to say in a recent interview given to the media,
'It still hasn't even been discussed."
'There have been so many important games over the last few months, I haven't had time to think about anything else."
'My focus is all on this week and getting that out of the way and then we will see what happens afterwards.
'I've enjoyed my time here, it's been great fun and I've really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can end up with another two winners' medals and then see what happens."
Thoughts we here on the Vital Fulham editorial team would share. However, somewhere down the line a decision will have to be made about the player we signed from Aston Villa as Davis remarked,
'It will be down to Fulham now and what their thoughts are. I'll have to speak to the manager [Roy Hodgson] first because I'm still under contract and that's going to be a factor.'
Despite being north of the border, so to say, Davis didn`t lose focus on his employers struggle to escape relegation as he explained,
'I was delighted for them staying in the Premier League. With five games of the season to go, nobody had really given them a chance and I was delighted they got themselves out of that situation.'
So, have the experiences of playing for the Scottish giants in so many crucial ties changed Davis? Will he return to Craven Cottage a better player, or has he simply missed the boat as far as Fulham are concerned?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
