'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lies, Lies and more Lies!

Before the big game against Pompey we ran a story about Dejan cursing us to relegation. However today our experienced defender has released a statement on the official site stating:

"Last week an article appeared in a local Portsmouth newspaper previewing Sunday`s crucial game at Fratton Park. I was deeply disappointed and angered to find I had been misquoted in the feature. To my dismay the quotes were subsequently repeated in the Sun newspaper on Saturday in an article written by a journalist I had not even spoken to.

"I would like to make it clear that despite not being involved last Sunday I was 100% behind the team and delighted to see the boys get the win that retained the club's Premier League status. On a weekend when I should have been toasting my colleagues I was saddened to read fabricated quotes that were in no way representative of my feelings towards the game and our season.

'I am delighted that we won at Fratton Park and that the fans will be watching Premier League football again next season at Craven Cottage, and I would like to apologise to those fans and of course the Club's Chairman, for these incorrect quotes appearing in the press in the build up to such a big game.

Well let me be the first to say sorry to Dejan. I should have given him the benefit of the doubt, he's an experienced campaigner! However I do realise nothing said about his future at Fulham! None perhaps?

No great loss if he leaves, to be honest.

have to agree there mate! Too slow to be any good! Would be good to keep as a youth coach though! Both junior and Ashton said he helped them loads!

I was a bit surprised by the initial story. Why say so thos things whilst still employed by the club. Jurno bollox as usual.

first to be shipped out perhaps!

Storage: he's gone from captaining the side to not even making the bench under Hodgson, so he'd be understandably bitter. I suspect some of what he was quoted as saying is true, and some isn't...
