Fulham - Nevland on our Situation!

Sunday edges ever closer and with it come the inevitable nerves.

Merely thinking about that crucial period between 15:00 hours and the final whistle is enough to make the hairs on my neck stand up. It`s anyone`s guess as to how I`ll actually be on Sunday or how I`ll cope with all the nervous tension, the nervous anticipation and the emotions associated with such a monumental day.

However, in all honesty, I have to admit that it does feel good to be able to stand up and claim our future is in our own hands. After languishing in 19th place for so long, just creeping above the relegation line has put a bounce in my step, a smile on my face and improved my confidence with regards to staying up no end.

I guess I`m not the only one.

As the build up to the game commences, our Norwegian striker, Erik Nevland, has spoken about the current situation, incidentally it`s a situation he also experienced whilst under the stewardship of Roy Hodgson in Scandinavia.

Here`s what he had to say,

"This is what I came for. I just want to contribute to keeping Fulham up and I`m doing that. I had a bad period in March but I just had to keep working hard and I`ve got my rewards."

"If you`d said we would be out of the bottom three before the last game of the season everyone would have taken it a few weeks back. It`s been an amazing turnaround and it just shows you what belief can do."

"It was a surreal feeling after last week`s game because we`d done a great job and put ourselves in a great position, but there`s still a lot of work to be done. It was too early to be celebrating."

"We`ve got to put in the same work on Sunday that we`ve put in the last few games. I think we can beat them and stay in the Premier League."

Whilst that lot down the other end of the Fulham Road harp on about their Champions League Final, I`m off the opinion our do-or-die clash with Portsmouth is every bit as crucial, if not more!

What do we think of Nevland then? He has a fantastic finish, brilliant touch and vision but lacks pace. what do you guys think about him? I'm quite the fan tbh!
