'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Countdown to Destiny!

The loss to Liverpool last weekend has left us with a monumental task.

It doesn`t take a mathematical genius to work out that we`re adrift by such a margin that we need, at a minimum, to win our last three games and hope others fall by the wayside.

It`s beginning to look as if it`ll become a war of nervous attrition. If we can beat Manchester City, on Saturday, and Birmingham fail to get anything from their fixture, it could set up a mother-of-all fixtures the following week.

Unfortunately, we`d still need Bolton to come a cropper in their run-in otherwise it`s likely to be Derby, Fulham and Birmingham who drop through the trap door.

In fact, it might not even be Bolton who we need to slip-up, three poor performances from Reading may drag the Berkshire club into the mire.

Sadly, it`s all - what if`s? - Thanks to our troubled season not even survival is in our own hands.

What a sorry state of affairs!

We have to win our last 3! No doubt. If we do that then we WILL stay up.
