Another Promise to Stay

Danny Murphy has joined the likes of Hughes, Bullard and Healy to announce that he would like to stay at the Cottage even if we are playing outside the Premiership next season.

The former Liverpool man has made 27 starts since arriving in the summer from Spuds on a free.

With the possibility that our future could be set in stone this weekend Murphy has come out to say he's prepared to stay put.

The 31-year-old , who is out of contract at the end of the season told the press today:

"I've certainly no intention or desire to leave the club, no matter what the predicament next season.

"I enjoy working under Roy, I enjoy being at this club, and the fans have been great.

"Obviously there's certain restrictions the club might find itself facing in terms of the budget if, God forbid, we go down."

Will Murphy continue to feature in Roy's plans?

Well that is good news, can see you coming stright back up if you keep most of your squad together!

If we keep him and Bullard that's a midfield pair that 'should' rip apart most teams in the championship IF we go down. I've always supported fulham on the basis that it's the nicest club and this confirms it for me really. Good on these players for staying with us i say!

wait til some agent dangles a fat cheque in his direction - he'll change his mind!

LOL, merlin. I won't rule it out! :)

I think Merlin's comments is probably true, the last bit of Murphy's comment does suggest that if his wages are cut down he'll be off! That being said its nice to see senior players like Danny say they want to stay with the club. Danny, Bullard, Andreasen and someone to replace Simon Davies (who unfortunately I can see moving to a premiership club if we get relegated) would be a monster midfield in the championship

play wayne brown on the right if, god forbid, that heppens. Or even Dempsey.
oranje_emu
Dempsey will be off if we go down him, bullard and davies are the only players that we have that are premiership quality
Backslash2010
How about konch?
oranje_emu
do you think rangers will keep steve davis?
quietman
Paul Konchesky is as usefull as a chocolate teapot
Backslash2010
If Rangers win the eufa cup they'll buy him cause they'll need the money
Backslash2010
I have to disagree with you there Backslash2010! I rate Konch and I think the him and Davies are the two most likely to be leaving the club for a stay in the premiership. I hope they both stay of course! I think Dempsey might stay too.
