Quit the Booing!

Quit the Booing!

Okay, so the defeat was disappointing and probably demoralising but was that really necessary?

I`m talking about the wave of disapproval that descended upon Craven Cottage when it became clear that Sunderland were going, thanks to their three goals, walk away with the three points.

The club made strenuous efforts to ensure the team received the maximum backing from the crowd by issuing those infuriating noise making thingies!

We were the better team during the first half and were unlucky to go in a goal down.

However, the second half was disappointing but should we not have kept cheering our lads on?

Is that not the way we should behave instead of booing those who, until Jones netted the third, looked as if they may just might get back into the game!

The booing was picked up by Roy Hodgson in his brief post match interview where he remarked,

"When you get booed by the fans its disappointing. It never used to happen in the old days. But that`s life - and football, these days."

Honestly, we get more like that lot down the road each week!

I have always been angered by the fans when they start booing. What does it achieve? absolutly nothing, if anything it makes the situation worst!!

I was at the game, I wasn't one of the people booing either, but it didn't start until the final whistle went. In fact when the third goal went in and with McBride trying to restart the game, Bullard punched the ball away into the Stevenage Road stand in a strop and got a bit of hassle from McBride for doing so. Before that the crowd were silent but seeing that we all started clapping and cheering the lads on as did the Hammersmith end. At the end of the game there were some boos, which there shouldn't be, but any suggestion that as the game was going on, the crowd were booing the team is not true.
