'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boss Praises Healy!

He rarely makes the Fulham starting eleven but our Northern Irish striker remains a coveted asset for his national side.

Tonight, before once again appearing for his country, this time in a friendly, David will pick up an award for becoming the most prolific scorer in a European Championships qualifying campaign. His thirteen goals eclipsed the previous record held by Davor Suker.

The feat is a marvellous one and his international boss, Nigel Worthington, has, on the eve of the fixture, spoken out about his prolific scorer commenting,

"If a striker from a bigger country had done it people would have been shouting from the roof-tops."

"Even if David`s not in his club side I won`t leave him out. He`s a goal scorer and vital to everything we do."

We here at Vital Fulham would, ahead of the fixture tonight, like to wish David every success and congratulate him on getting his name into the record books.

It's a mystery to everyone - mind you he couldn't even reproduce that form at leeds in the Championship!

I gather that none other than Michel Platini is going to present the award - bet he's gutted to miss France v England!
