It`s going to be one of those weeks!
One of those weeks whereby international football eclipses the domestic game and one of those weeks whereby the build up to this weekend`s games doesn`t burst into life until Friday morning once the inevitable international inquests have been dealt with.
For us, this Saturday, just has to be the most important weekend of the season so far. If we are going to survive in the Premier League then it is a necessity that we end our awful away record at Derby.
After all, in all honesty, if we can`t beat a Derby side that has only won once all season then we don`t deserve to be playing top flight football. In short, Derby`s form, earning a meagre ten points in thirty-one games has them on course to be labelled as the worst Premier League side in history.
Now is not the time to be chivalrous, now is the time to show no mercy, now is the time to push Derby closer to that aforementioned tag and gain those three valuable points on offer.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Roy Hodgson is offering no guarantees about survival, simply remarking,
"Of course I can`t guarantee we`ll stay up but I still have belief. We have players who can score goals, let`s hope they show that in the final seven games."
Not sure about the final seven Roy, can we just start with Saturday and a few goals to give the small travelling band of supporters who go week in and week out, a chance to travel home with a smile on their faces?
Surely they deserve that!
