'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hodgson Not Throwing Towel In!

It may have been another three points that slipped by and we may still be in dire straits with regards to our Premier League survival but there is still reason to hope.

There are seven games left and from those seven games there is a possibility, albeit small, that we could win twenty-one points. Therefore, whilst there is hope we`ll not throw in the towel and neither will Roy Hodgson.

This is what he had to say after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle,

"We were two points behind Bolton and we are now three points adrift. Birmingham, who were four points ahead of us at the start of the day are still four points ahead."

"We have got seven games to play. But it was a significant move for Sunderland, with their excellent win at Aston Villa, so we have lost touch with them."

"But having said that, seven matches, a lot of things can happen. We have got to keep believing that our football can get us out of this situation."

It`s not over until the fat lady sings is it Roy!

21 points - that's only two less than you've won all season!

but with only four wins survival does seem a hard task!
merlin
got to admire his spirit - mind you if he were to chuck in the towel now and admit we're down moral would plunge! He's right though, if we take half the points on offer we'll be safe but a win at Derby is absolutely vital!
Putney
If we look at the games left and what we could possibly expect - Derby (3 points) Sunderland (3 points) Reading (1 point) Liverpool ) points) Man City (1 point) Birmingham 3 points) that gives us 11 points and 34 in total - leaving it all down to that last game at Portsmouth which would be like a Cup Final - anyone can win a one off can't they?
Putney
We will beat Pompey as they will chuck out a reserve team and focus on F.A. Cup Final. I reckon we will stay up. Just gotta get more points than Brum and Bolton and Bolton hav tough run in and we still gotta play Brum.
Fulham Jim
Bolton have a horrible run of games. We can still stay up and I'm still sure we will! Brum and Bolton to join Derby after we seal their fate next week!
