Hodgson and Al Fayed!

Still basking in the warmth of a marvellous victory over Everton this afternoon, it appears that a little ploy engineered by Roy Hodgson came to fruition.

According to reports received, Roy has revealed that he has asked Al Fayed to come down to the training ground on a few occasions to talk to the players.

Well it appears that Mr Al Fayed did just that and Roy had this to say about the visit,

"I`ve asked the chairman a few times so I was delighted to get the message that he was coming. He was very buoyant and very passionate. I was delighted with the way the players reacted."

Also quoted in the media as having been impressed by the words the chairman had to say was the match winner today, Brain McBride, who had this to say,

"The chairman`s a busy man so it was great to have him meet with us. He told us we have to have that will to win, that he was behind us and that he wanted us to refocus ourselves for the title run-in and have a winning mentality."

"Every player walked out of that room feeling a few inches taller."

Three cheers for Mr Al Fayed!
