Fulham - Three Crucial Games?

After scraping a draw at Blackburn this weekend, courtesy of a last minute equaliser from the boot of Jimmy Bullard, we still have it all to do if we are to stay up.

With nine games left, there are twenty seven points up for grabs, twenty-seven valuable points, points that could shape the destiny of our club for the next few years.

Now I`m not saying we are going to get all twenty-seven points, I`m not that foolish, but with the way things are going, three games are starting to look to be the vital games.

If you look at the fixtures left, we face trips to Derby County, Reading and Newcastle United all of whom are either in the drop zone or rapidly sliding towards it.

With no away wins in thirty-one attempts in the Premier League, if we are to survive then something has to give, we have to make sure that those three games become must-win fixtures.

Unfortunately, for us, the gap between us and safety means that there is no longer any room for a slip up. Every point dropped will create more and more pressure on the team, therefore, whilst acknowledging that the three aforementioned games are critical ones, we need to treat the other six with equal importance, starting with Everton this Sunday.

As we stated just a short while ago, every game is going to be like a cup final, it`s just that Reading (a), Newcastle (a) and Derby (a) could, considering they`re the proverbial six-pointers, be likened to a Champions League final, such are the financial implications of not succeeding in our fight for survival.
