Player ratings vs West Ham

Niemi- 7/10- Solid. Fouled for the goal and pulled off some good saves.

Stalteri-7/10- Solid throughout the game. Lacks a little pace but played well. Strong in the challenge and a surprisingly good cross on him.

Hughes-7/10- Struggled with the height and strength of Cole. Always second to the Chelsea reject. However put in some vital challenges

Hangeland-7/10- Solid as ever. However kept us on our seats with the ball at his feet. Good intentions with playing and running the ball out of defence but almost caught out a few times and I`m sure I can remember him being caught out on at least one occasion.

Konchesky-9/10- Solid in the defence and more than happy to push up the field. My man of the match with his vital tackles, brilliant backing up and constant threat in the attack.

Andreasen-8/10- Full of energy all game. Pace, strength and a good eye for a pass. Continues to prove a brilliant buy and unfortunate to be sent off otherwise a hard push between him and Konch for Man of the match.

Bullard-8/10-Started the game fantastically. Faded away later in the game but continued to link midfield with attack and got into some attacking positions without the finish.

Kamara-6/10-Flashes of brilliance put seemed a bit on the lazy side at times. Should of won a penalty when Ferdinand blocked his shot with hands. Doesn`t seem to use his pace.

Murphy-6/10-Linked up well with Bullard and Andreasen. A bit expensive and disappeared in the second half.

Dempsey-8/10- All energy display as usual. Showed pace, skill and strength. Linked up play between midfield and attack with ease. Target man during the game and always a threat in the air. Lacking the Finish though.

McBride-7/10- Still finding his feet since injury. Looked good through out game and nice to see him play the full 90 minutes. Still got more to see from him.

Subs

Johnson- 6/10- Only on for 15 minutes but showed some pace and skill. Looked a bit lost at times but I`m sure he`ll get better with more minutes. Should of done better with his volley. Does look promising.

Niemi deserved 8/10 imo, thought Hughes was poor and made some bad errors would have given him 5, Hangerland... solid when asked to defend, scary when he has the ball at his feet as he lost possession in potentially dangerous positions on a few occasions I would have given him 6. Agree with all your other ratings apart from Bullard, he had great energy but I thought it was the worst I've seen him play. A number of his passes went to a West Ham shirt and, for one, his set piece delivery was poor, I'd have given him 6 or maybe 7 out of ten. Don't get me wrong though, it was a good performance from the team, I just got the impression that we were never going to score a goal though and I still believe that we should go with 4-4-2 personally
