'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reserve update

Simon Elliott and Eddie Johnson both enjoyed run-outs for Fulham's reserves in this week's 2-0 defeat by West Ham this week.

Kiwi midfielder Elliott continued his rehabilitation, successfully coming through the full 90 minutes whilst USA international striker Johnson was replaced, as planned on the hour mark.

Toni Kallio who defended superbly through out the game saw his headed effort go close. The Finnish international had an almost identical effort in the second half smuggled away.

It was a close game but 2 goals in the last 5 minutes saw Our second string team lose for the first time in 4 games and is only their 4th lost this season.

I think Johnson was only played for 60mins so he wont be too tired for this weekend.

Fulham: Batista (Etheridge HT); Omozusi, Pearce, Kallio, Ashton; Timlin, Brown, Anderson, Elliott; Ehui, Johnson (Smith 60)

One of the recent polls indicated a high % hope Eddie is the answer to staying up. Eddie does score goals - 37 goals in 51 matches for the U-xx national team. That torrid pace drops off to about 1 goal per 3 matches in his professional and full national team appearances. He does tend to score important goals - 7 goals in 7 matches in the WC qualifiers and of his 15 goals in 24 games last season in MLS, 6 were game winners. I'm not sure Eddie is the answer to the questions being put to Fulham at the moment, but there is still hope. Good luck to Eddie. Good luck to Fulham. May his debut bring 3 much needed points.

will Johnson make his debut this weekend?

I hope so! The limit of 60mins for the reserves certainly suggest so
