'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cousin could face Greeks

Rangers boss Walter Smith is considering playing Daniel Cousin against Panathinaikos as the player waits on Fifa to make a decision on his proposed move.

Fifa are expected to make a judgement on the case this week, but Smith says he is still prepared to field Cousin on Wednesday in their Uefa Cup clash as Jean-Claude Darcheville is suspended for the game.

Whilst talking to the press Smith had this to say;

'I'm more concerned for the player because he's not getting a game and that could be considered a wee bit unfair. But the situation remains the same,'

I'll consider the possibility of playing Cousin against Panathinaikos up until Fifa make a decision. If it turns out he can go to Fulham then he goes. If not, that's fine by me.

'I am well aware that he hasn't played for three weeks because of the transfer situation but, even so, I would have no hesitation in playing him if I feel it will benefit the team.

'It will also depend on how we want to play but even without Jean-Claude Darcheville there are still options.

'I wouldn't have sanctioned Cousin's sale if I had thought it would leave us short of options to achieve our goals.'

Just keep him fit for us!

Heard so much about this player, most of it not good! So, is he worth all the aggro? Surely with Brian McGod back, Nevland, Johnson and possibly Dempsey and Kamara able to play upfront, do we need him?

No we don't! If there's one thing weve got it's strikers
